Born in 1939 in Haldwani, Garhwal, Uttarakhand. The late Mr. Raturi pursued his education at Allahabad University, where he earned both a BA and an MA in Hindi. In 1958, he married Satyawati Dhasmana, and together they had three children: Rajeev, Ranjana, and Sumant.
The late Mr. Raturi was a distinguished author of juvenile literature. He focused his educational pursuits on Hindi literature and classics, at Allahabad University. During this time he was involved as a sub-editor for ‘Amrit Patrika’.
After graduating, he moved to Delhi to work under the renowned Hindi advocate Rajarshi Purushottam Das Tandon and work as a professor at the Hindi Sahitya Sammelan College. In 1954, he joined the Press Information Bureau of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.
Throughout his academic and professional career, the late Mr. Raturi’s passion for literation and writing remained steadfast. He translated two foreign novels and authored seven original books, including “Meera Bawri,” “Veer Kunwar Singh,” “Shantidoot Nehru,” “Hamare Bahadur Jawan,” “Hamare Bahadur Hawabaaz,” “NEFA aur Ladakh Ke Sahasi Veeron Ki Gathaye,” and “Lal Bahadur Shastri.” The combination of his original works and translational contribution attribute to his dexterity as a literary genius, and fuel his everlasting legacy in the field of Hindi literature.
